The Opportunity
Easyfairs is looking for an Accounts Assistant to support our growth journey. The position exists to support the smooth processing and management of all employee expense costs across three countries (UK, France & Spain) as well as provide support to the Accounts Payable function and the Finance Manager.
We are open to candidates who wish to work four days per week instead of full-time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing of employee expenses through Spendesk including reviews of pre-approved expenses, weekly validation of claims, journal posting and payment processing, management of balances held and reconciliation of control accounts.
- Processing and management for all administration linked to starters and leavers within the system.
- Onboarding for new starters and providing training where required.
- Liaise with Helpdesk to resolve any issues arising with the Spendesk System.
- Ensure all teams and costing information is accurately updated each month to reflect staff movement.
- Management of Expenses shared Outlook folder with timely replies to requests and queries.
- Production of monthly expenses summary with confident communication to Heads of Departments.
- Supporting the AP team with the processing of vendor invoices and payments as required.
- Routine auditing of expense claims.
- Ad Hoc cost analysis and accounting duties as and when required.
Career Development
This position will work closely with accounts payable, management account production and balance sheet control.
The position will have the opportunity to play a role in system development, acquisitions and integrations as well as on going reporting developments with potential to gain experience of the wider finance function of Accounts Payable management.

Person Profile
The ideal candidate would be someone who has begun accounting studies (AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA) and is looking to gain valuable real life experience alongside these formal qualifications.
They should have experience of working in accounting with practical experience using financial systems, ideally with some understanding of expense processing, accounts payable processes. Must have basic double entry bookkeeping knowledge and experience with reconciliations.
The ideal person will be able to demonstrate a skillset of financial control, customer service, effective time management and a curiosity for continuous improvement. Solid spreadsheet skills are essential as is experience of Financial Systems (experience of Navision in particular would be an advantage). The role requires someone who can work autonomously, can manage their time and prioritise effectively.
The successful candidate is likely to present themselves as being well organised, self-motivated, dedicated, meticulous and conscientious. This person needs to be professional and confidential, willing to accept responsibility, be driven by a “right first time” attitude and a desire to deliver outstanding customer service and see themselves as an integral part of the finance team.
